I have a love hate relationship with push ups. I love them because they are the just an all around GREAT upper body exercise. If you think about it this one exercise alone is working your chest, your shoulders, and your triceps. Your abs, lats, and traps work to help stabilize your upper body while doing a push up and your glutes, legs and lower back are stabilizing your lower body so you're hips don't sag or pike in the air while doing push up. UMMMM can you say AWESOME!! Did you even know that you actually are working all of those muscles with one exercise???!! I didn't until I actually went to school and learned what all those muscles where and how to work them. :)
So they aren't my favorite exercise because it is the one body weight exercise that still challenges me every time I do them. But that doesn't mean that I only do them when I feel like it, I put push ups in every single workout I do and every program I design for a client has push ups in them because they are such a GREAT exercise!
