So not my best workout to date, but I did it and that's what counts most.

Fabulous Monday! I had a decent break from 11-4:45, which was good I have a lot of computer work that I needed to get started on so this gave me time to get started on it. I did have a really hard time staying focused not gonna lie, but I distracted myself with other things that I needed to do instead of going and getting food to snack on. Usually when I sit down to work on my computer for some reason I feel the need to eat EVERYTHING! No doubt form the years of eating lunch at my computer while working. . . . .a habit that must change.
Like I said in my blog yesterday I realized I have been letting my emotions control way too much of how my day turns out and weather or not I work out and stay on track for my goals. Moving forward this is going to be a focus of mine, being at peace with those emotions and feelings and just letting them be. Leaving them at the door if you will, I remember telling that to my employees when I managed coffee shops, it doesn't matter what's going on in your life, leave it at the door. Often times a good workout and sticking to your guns can change any mood, a sense of accomplishment it's almost instant gratification in a way. Maybe you won't see a six pack after a great workout, but, you just worked out and that brings you one step closer to your goal! BOOM!

Tabata 4: Kettlebell Lateral Lunges & TRX Open Ups
What an awesome weekend in Aspen! Just what I needed, guilt free down time. . . .I'm looking forward to the last 40 days of this challenge. I think I have successfully figured out what my road blocks are, and how to handle them, without wine! I keep getting a part of the motivational video that I listen to daily popping up in my head and I'm actually hearing it for the first time today since I started listening to it in January. I don't always catch on right away but I do when I am supposed to :) Anyway there is a part in the video when he is talking about feelings and how we must discipline and contain our emotions or they will use you. . . . .UHHHH!!! The reason it is popping into my head so much I believe (in a moment of clarity) that I have been letting my emotions use me. . . . .I know it sounds weird and when I first started listening to the video I didn't really get it. But now I do. When I'm stressed about money, I look to wine to help deal with the emotions, when I'm tired I look to food to deal with the emotions, when I'm happy well it's easier to stay on track and manage myself and the goals I am trying to reach. I can look back clearly now and see each emotion and how it has hindered my progress. . . . .It's really truly amazing when you are open to seeing and receiving the things that appear. It's not just tangible things but things on the inside, the things that have been stuffed for so long, repeatedly covered by alcohol or food that you actually forget they are there. Oh feelings and emotions I used to not really like you all that much but now we are on the same team and with an awesome team like this how can we not succeed!!

I love what I do! I get to help people make positive healthy changes in their life and I get to do it basically on my schedule! So on random Monday's if I want, I can go hang out in a sauna for an hour and a half still train clients, have meetings and get work done. YES!! I'm extremely grateful for where I am and that I have the ability to make all of this happen.
So about this sauna, it's a place that I've driven past pretty much everyday for the last 3 years but never really knew what it was. My friend and acupuncturist Joanna mentioned going to a sauna and I was all in. I've actually never been to one so new experience for me, when she said it was off Colfax near my house I was even more excited to make this venture because I'd always wondered what this place was. I believe it's been there for over 30 years so it looks like it's been used for over 30 years, but it was truly a wonderful experience. They have a wet steam room, a dry steam room which I didn't even know existed, and a hot tub that I think is safe to say the hottest hot tub I have ever been in I think 10 minutes was all I could handle at one time, if that.
The wet steam room when I first walked in was overwhelmingly hot, taking a deep breath was not happening right away and it smelled of eucalyptus which was nice. I think it's safe to say if you have any type of congestion going on 10 minutes in that room will clear you right up, plus you sweat like crazy, obviously the point. After the wet steam room, you head into the dry sauna which is just that DRY and HOT. After the dry sauna we went to the hot tub and relaxed there for a few I sat in front of the jets which felt good on my sore calf muscles truly a great way to help any type of muscle soreness you have going on. They also have a woman on staff who does salt scrubs so I indulged in that after 2 rounds of wet sauna, dry sauna, and hot tub. My skin feels AMAZING!
It was also a very liberating experience, while you get a sheet to walk around in I think I saw maybe one person using it. Every woman in there embracing every part of their body proudly it was awesome, and the way it should be. This is a great way to get out of that comfort zone of hiding behind a towel. I think we spend too much time hating things about our bodies, it's the one we are given and we should embrace it!
Staying hydrated while in there and then once you leave is very important. I was pretty tired by the end of the day sweating out any toxins I had in my body no doubt left me feeling a little lethargic, but for a good cause. The hubby was kind enough to cook dinner since all I wanted to do was lay on the couch and read!
Okay! On to the details of the day. . . .
Day 43 Diet: Had a pretty fab day on this!!
Breakfast: Kale smoothie
Snack: Nuts & dried fruit mix
Lunch: Broccoli & Protein Shake
Snack: Tuna (out of the can again) & Apple
Dinner: Grilled Ahi & Asparagus
After Dinner Snack: Apple
Day 43 Workout: So I realized today that my Tabata workouts are starting to get a little easier than they used to be. . . . .Weeeeeeeee!!!! So what this means, well I now need to start picking exercises that challenge me a little more or increase my time from 20 minutes to 30. Haven't decided on that yet but I will put that into play next week.
Tabata Workout: Back, Legs & Cardio
Tabata 1: TRX Pistol Squats & Mountain Climbers
Tabata 2: Inverted Rows & Modified Bosu Burpees (no overhead press with this one due to shoulder)
Tabata 3: Lateral Lunge to Curtsy Lunge & Mountain Climbers
Tabata 4: TRX Muscle Ups & Modified Bosu Burpees
Another weekend here and gone. . . It's crazy to me how much faster time seems to be going by these days. After a short conversation with my friend Heather about getting back on track and going hard it dawned on me yet again that I get into this place of content when I start seeing results. I've known this about myself or rather I learned this about myself about 6 months ago and it keeps popping up so I think it's a sign. And I don't know if it's like this for everyone but it's a little battle that I need to overcome and resolve once in for all. I'm reaching the half way mark of this 90 day challenge and I believe there is a competition in August that I want to be ready for, so at the 45 day mark I will post photos of my progress and then weekly photos until the end of the this challenge. I think this will help me stay motivated knowing that I will be posting pics weekly for all to see YIKES! This makes me crazy nervous! And crazy excited! Nervous because I will finally be pushing through a place I have not pushed through before. . . . .my comfort zone! I think I may have mentioned this before but along with this challenge I have started writing in a journal almost daily which by the way has helped in so many other areas of my life. Anyway I was writing this morning about feeling like I'm needing something else in my life more change I think. Anyway I think this is the right time to push the limits on my comfort zone and get this done!! Call in the troops. . . .here we go!!
Day 41 Diet: This I think is by far my worst day of my diet yikes!
Breakfast: Left over Pizza (I'm pretty embarrassed to even admit this)
Lunch: Crawfish, Corn, Sausage, Gumbo, Beer :( Cake
Dinner: Chips & Dip (even more embarrassing than breakfast)
Day 42 Diet: Much better than Saturday
Breakfast: Eggs & Bacon
Lunch: Sweet Potato & Hamburger with homemade taco seasoning (needed to go to the grocery store)
Snack: Apple & Nuts with dried fruit
Dinner: Chicken Salad
This icky weather makes me feel lethargic and very unmotivated. . . . And also makes me want comfort food, like pizza. Which I chose to indulge in. And it was delicious! Well I feel like it used to taste a lot better, funny how your taste buds change when you start eating food that's good for you. Who would have thought :) I love when I learn lessons again and know that I am in a much better place to accept them and truly feel it.
Day 40 Diet:
Breakfast: Kale smoothie
Lunch: Kale smoothie
Day 40 Workout: I didn't have a ton of motivation or energy so I jumped on the treadmill for 15 minutes, still wasn't feeling it so I wasn't going to force it.
Okay! So even though I enjoyed my workout yesterday, I realized today that my shoulder is not better and will likely need a few more weeks of love. I'm not 100% sure what is wrong with it and that bothers me because I want to know when it will get better. So in the mean time I will continue to do corrective exercises daily (which I should be doing anyway) I will also be more aware of not sleeping on my side any longer. . . which kinda sucks because that is the side I usually end up sleeping on. Which could be contributing to my shoulder pain and when I say could be I mean it is. So with all that being said I will lay off exercises that could further the problem, such as lifting anything overhead, chest press, which is an exercise I rarely do, but I do however do push ups which I think I will lay off of as well since that is what I believe I did the other day that would cause my shoulder to hurt again well that and sleeping on it. Have you ever tried to change the way you sleep? I always fall asleep on my back especially now that I have started listening to a meditation track while falling asleep (amazing by the way) anyway not what I'm talking about. So since hurting my shoulder I am more aware now when I wake up in the middle of the night to turn to my side to sleep, and when I'm not trying to do it I seem to wake up a lot more, OR I'm just noticing I wake up more because I am more aware of my sleep position. . . . hmmmmm chicken or egg. . . . anyway not excited about this, but I will keep moving forward and there are still plenty of exercises I can do while I give my shoulder a little love.
Well enough about all that! Today was another fabulous day! A long day for sure started at 7 and finished at 8 which is very very rare for me I typically don't schedule anyone after 4pm, but I had a couple of new clients that could only meet in the evening so I made adjustments and made that happen. I really don't mind it if it's only one or two days a week, it's when it becomes more 12-13 hours days then not that makes me want to go crazy and not in the good way :)
I'm having some technology issues and can't seem to get my workout videos to post on youtube. . . .super annoying so until I get that figured out no videos :(
Day 39 Diet: Once again I don't think I ate enough today, so I really need to get back on the meal prep train.
Breakfast: Chicken and steamed broccoli
Lunch: Kale Smoothie
Dinner: Left over chicken and Broccoli from breakfast.
Day 39 Workout: Got me some cardio in today woop woop!
30 minute treadmill walking. . . .15% incline speed 2.8! BOOM!
