Woke up pretty motivated today, slept pretty darn good it rained last night so we cracked the window and listened to the thunder and rain while falling asleep. Reminds me of growing up in Wisconsin and falling asleep to the rain there. It was cloudy and cold most of the day and soon my motivation turned to feeling lethargic. Not sure if it was a hangover from my pitty party or just the weather but by the end of the day laying on the couch was about all I could handle. So that's what I did, no point in fighting it. It was really nice getting some resistance training in today! Felt good to use my muscles again :) my shoulder is feeling better but I'm still gonna baby it for a couple more days. Listening to your body is so important when you are putting stress on it. If something hurts don't do it. I'm not talking about muscles burning while you are working them that's supposed to happen, but if you've tweaked something you will know. It's very important to get it checked out and find out what is going on, because at that point you are at a far greater risk of further injuring yourself and well that wouldn't be fun.
So while I was leaving my networking event this afternoon I slammed my hand in my car door. After about 2 minutes of a few choice words I was finally able to start my car but wrapping my hand around my steering wheel was a bit painful. Some bruising and swelling happened almost immediately hmmmmmm. . . . Picking up weights might suck for a couple days but I don't think it's anything serious. And I didn't realize my car door was so heavy. Seriously though who slams their own hand in the car door??? At least it was my left hand. . . . Anyway moving on. Nothing I can't work around.
